Reduce a PDF for the Tax Agency

The Spanish Tax Agency accepts large files, but if yours doesn't fit here's the limit it publishes and how to adjust it without uploading it to any server.

1 · Document

2 · Maximum size

1 MB = 1,024 KB. If the form doesn't say, leave a little room under the limit.

3 · Result

  1. Lossless first

We rebuild the PDF's internal structure. If that's enough, the text stays selectable.

  2. If not, exact size

We turn each page into an image and find the highest resolution and quality that fit your limit.

  3. Download and done

You see the final size against the limit and a preview before saving.

Everything runs in your browser. Your document is never uploaded to any server.

What the Tax Agency e-office accepts

For supporting documents, the AEAT e-office says each file can weigh up to 128 MB, and valid formats include PDF, JPG, PNG, Word, CSV, TXT, MP3, MP4, ZIP and 7Z. The full list is in each form's “Help” link. The page was updated on 09/10/2026 and I checked it on 23 October 2026. It doesn't state a maximum number of files.

That's a very high limit: normally a PDF of documents goes in without trouble. Still, each procedure may have its own; look at the form's. More bodies in the guide to file size limits on Spanish e-offices.

What's next?

If the PDF still doesn't go in

  • It's heavier than the form accepts: compress it with this tool; it opens at 10 MB, but you can enter the exact size you see in the procedure.
  • It's several documents: if you want to submit them together, merge them into one PDF and compress the result.
  • The file is over the limit even compressed: split it by size and upload the parts separately.

Private by design

Most online tools upload your files to their servers. Not here: everything is processed in your own browser and nothing is ever sent anywhere. That's why you can safely use it with your ID, passport, payslips, medical reports or contracts.

Before sending

Check the result with “View full size” and make sure amounts, dates and signatures are readable. To file or add documents you need a certificate or electronic DNI, or Cl@ve if you're an individual.
