How to remove blank pages

  1. Choose your scanned PDF. While the thumbnails are created, we flag the ones that look empty.
  2. Click Remove blank pages. They're marked as deleted, not gone yet.
  3. Review them. If one had content, click Undo on that page.
  4. Click Save PDF.

How a blank page is detected

We measure how much of each thumbnail has ink, leaving out the edges, where scanners often leave shadows. If there's almost none, the page is flagged as blank.

It's an estimate. A page with very little on it, like a small signature or a faint stamp, could be flagged. That's why nothing is removed until you've seen it.

Private by design

Most online tools upload your files to their servers. Not here: everything is processed in your own browser and nothing is ever sent anywhere. That's why you can safely use it with your ID, passport, payslips, medical reports or contracts.

Why do blank pages appear?

  • You scanned double-sided a document printed on one side only.
  • The printer or scanner added a separator sheet.
  • The original document had pages intentionally left blank.

Can it remove a page that wasn't blank?

Detection is automatic and can get nearly empty pages wrong. That's why pages are only marked and you can bring any of them back before saving.

Does it detect pages with scanner shadows?

We ignore the page edges, where shadows usually appear. If the sheet has large marks it may not be flagged, and you'll need to remove it by hand.

Can I remove other pages by hand?

Yes. Besides blank pages, you can remove, rotate or move any page with its buttons.
