How to resize a photo to 100 KB
- Drop one or more photos into the box above or click to choose them.
- Check the maximum file size is set to 100 KB (it's already filled in).
- If you're also given pixel dimensions, turn on “Change width and height”.
- Click Resize, compare before and after, and download.
Where is a photo under 100 KB required?
A 100 KB limit shows up, for example, on:
- Government and visa portals that limit each attached image.
- Photos of documents (ID card, passport page, receipts) to send through online forms.
- Classified ads and websites that reject heavy photos.
Each organisation or website sets its own requirements. Always check the form's instructions: besides file size, they may ask for a specific format, dimensions or background.
As a rough guide, a normal JPG photo of 100 KB usually ends up at around 1000 × 750 px. It depends on how much detail the image has.
Private by design
Most online tools upload your files to their servers. Not here: everything is processed in your own browser and nothing is ever sent anywhere. That's why you can safely use it with your ID, passport, payslips, medical reports or contracts.
Document photos at 100 KB
If you photograph an ID card, a passport page or a receipt, 100 KB is usually enough for the text to be readable. Frame the document well and avoid shadows when you take the photo, so no size is wasted on the background.
If the form asks for a PDF rather than an image, check which formats it accepts. This tool produces JPG or WEBP.

Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Everything is processed inside your browser. Your files never leave your device.
Is it free?
Yes. No sign-up, no watermark and no usage limits.
How do I get my photo under 100 KB?
Choose the photo, keep 100 KB as the maximum file size and click Resize. The best quality that fits is found and, only if needed, the pixels are reduced.
What if it can't reach the size?
It happens with very detailed photos and very low limits. Try cropping the part you don't need or, if allowed, raise the limit a little.
Can I resize several photos to 100 KB at once?
Yes. Select or drop them all together. Each one is reduced separately and gets its own download button.
Will the text on a photographed document be readable?
Usually yes at 100 KB. If the text looks blurry, crop the extra margins and try again.
